Happy Family

I just said in my last post that I was not the one sick and miserably lying in hospital. I've got to bite my tongue now because this week it was really ME in hospital. Checked in Tuesday and discharged Friday for dengue. Amazingly I started with a fever on Friday, but still went to work with a huge lilac luggage bag and headed for church camp right after. And survived a whole weekend of church camp with a raging fever and came home only to suspect it could have been dengue, which led to all the blood tests and hospital stay yada yada.

The ironic and most sui part is that, this whole month, almost my entire family had a hospital stay! First, my mum had an unexpected tumour and had to have an immediate operation.
While she was there, my sister had a raging temperature and had to be warded. So mum and daugther shared a double bed room. That was funny.
But then, when mum came home, brother had dengue and had to be warded. Now, it starts to get worrying. Whilst there, maid had dengue but hers never got to the serious-needed-to-be-hospitalised-point. BUT it was bad enough that she felt so sick she was confined to the bed for several days .
Then my dad had dengue and went to hospital. Now, both my bro and dad were in hospital at the same time. And my mum who's suppose to be resting from her op, became nurse instead (I was working just in case you wanted to stab me for not being responsible)

By this time, only my bro Eric and I remain sick-free. And all the relatives and friends were reminding us to stay strong.....
Until I had dengue and got warded as well.
Oh boy. What a November it was.
And having dengue was no fun.
You feel like vomiting everyday.
Food loses it appeal
Looking at food is mental anguish cos you wanna puke
You can't do anything but lie down cos you feel nausea
You get pricked every morning for a blood test.
You got to push your IV drip stand thingy everywhere you go.

But thanks to some friends, you guys made some horrible days shorter :)

By the time I came home, it felt like a spiritual experience.
Everything at home looked more beautiful, from the single leafy plant sprouting shyly on the coffee table, to the sweet air of home, the pleasantness of the walls and even the different , unmedicated smell of the toilet!!

3 am in SJMC

The clock is silently ticking in a single bedded room in SJMC. There isn't much to do but the view from the window is a breathtaking spread of lights beautifully dotting the town. Though I must say many people say I find even the simplest things amazing. Well, it's the little things that matter, haha.

Since I am cameraless for the night, I had to make do with my mobile phone and hence the not so pretty picture.

And if you love me alot and start panicking wondering why I am in SJMC, relax... I appreciate all your worry for me :) but I am not sick. The patient I am accompanying is simply afraid of being alone and I've volunteered to lend my presence :)

My First Post

A toast to my first post in my 2nd blog,

May I update more frequently than my previous blog,
May this blog never stall on me, refresh for no reason and lead to a more loving blogger-blog relationship,
May I always be myself on this blog but still allow space for my alter-ego,
May I never gossip mercilessly using obvious nicknames,
May I discover myself through this,
and last but not least
To the readers (if any) and to their continuous entertainment/enlightenment/boredom.
